I met somebody yesterday. She played me Stevie Nicks vinyl record and I felt loved ๐
The thing is, I didn’t get her name right at first. Ugh, I always do that. And it’s rude, I hate it. Does that happen to you? When someone tells you their name by the handshake but you just dismiss it… This is happening to me because I don’t remember people by their names. That’s not what I get from you at the first sight. I get the energy, or some special detail that catches my eyes, I get the sense of you, then comes the name. But at the time my brain comes to that part, I already have my ‘name’ that’s unique for you.
So I’m sorry (upfront) if I don’t get your name, but you can still be a special human to me ๐
She’s such a nice, calm soul. We spent a day at her place, listening to records, and burning some amazing Champa incense. She poured black Irish tea for me and coffee for her. The day was going easy and that’s what I needed, a nice, cozy winter weekend. It was freezing outside! But the atmosphere inside her home, with Stevie singing in the background… Beautiful! Those areย ‘The Unplugged’ย days we all need sometimes. Away from social media, emails, phone calls, and embracing the nature of a conversation. Ok, the vinyl record did play a serious part in this coziness, I must admit ๐
But, not after a few hours of talking about different stuff she knew that I am (how now everybody calls me) the Black Rabbit Tea Lady. She was surprised ‘Hey, I’ve tried your teas and they’re so nice!’ My heart jumped out. I will never get used to these things. Don’t just throw your love on me like that, haha. She was drinking coffee all day so I didn’t know she’s a tea lover as well. But yes, she came across my teas months ago and drinks them since. It was a lovely surprise for me.
When I got home later, I ran through my social media accounts to check the messages and get back to the community, and I saw a post that said ‘What was your success today?’ At that moment I realized how much I’m giving myself to the work. I know it doesn’t bother me because I enjoy it, but hey! we really need to Unplug ourselves more often! It’s crazy how, for the past year, everything turned even more online and we forget easily that sense of spending time hanging with people in a real life. Even meet new ones! I hope this will all end soon because the sunny days are ahead of us and I personally miss those days out with friends.
So, I wasn’t sure what my success was yesterday, maybe that I found what I needed…but I’m sure that I’m gonna unplug a bit more from now on.
And this was my intention for today, to remind you to check with yourself, what are you missing? Give yourself what you need. Brew some nice cuppa, take a moment and see what comes through. Unplug.
And if you need something to refresh your moments, try out one of these delightful recipes ๐
This sounds like a wonderful experience! I’m usually not great with names either! I never forget a face, but a name is another story.
