DIVINE LIMITATIONS

‘You’re either on my side, by my side, or in my way’…

This quote inspired me to write a post about setting boundaries. People need that… I’m someone who gives until she’s left with nothing, or I should say that was me. Still, I can’t shake off that giver coat, but at least I learned that some limits must be set.Β

People are needy. When they see you give and ask for nothing in return, they take and take and take. Then, you draw the line and they leave, not even considering what they’ve already taken. During my journey, I didn’t realize at first how much I was giving for free. And not just free of money but free of any obligation. Looking back now, no wonder why I lost so much time. Time, that hurts me the most, because you can’t get it back.

I got fierce at myself, but nothing that a good cuppa can’t settle down πŸ™‚

So I start asking questions;

How much time did I waste with this person? Because I was answering the questions he/she wasn’t ready for…

How much advice did I give to this person? Because no actions were taken…

How much knowledge did I share with this one? Because he/she doesn’t seem to care to learn…

How much? How many? How long?

Those were my questions, but never Why?

The Why is in human nature…

So, here comes the time when I draw my lines and give within those limitations. One thing happened, with Black Rabbit Tea I get it all back! I continuously give and receive and that’s what makes the community amazing!

It’s not a marketing move, (I already wrote a post about my marketing ‘strategies’), it’s a pure gift, and this time it goes to the right people. So grateful for that!

This season is a bit off because all year I’ve been facing challenges (I’m sure this applies to a lot of people). None of my great ideas was met, but Hey! got to move on, right? Hope next year will be easier in that matter, luckily I don’t lack ideas πŸ™‚ There will be more gifts to meet my Rockstars!

Here are some prompts for you for the end of this year;

Who do you give the most?

How much does that serve you?

Why do you do it?

Journal these questions, but Be Brutally Honest with yourself and see if there’re some limitations you need to set.

Have a joyful evening and brew some nice Tea πŸ˜‰

    Now we are getting somewhere πŸ˜‰
    What do we all get out of our time? What is a gift to the giver? Why is selfishness different than selflessness? Why are the questions more productive than the answers are?
    I am very pleased by reading this, thank you!

    1. I’m glad you find it useful.
      And I agree, selfishness and selflessness are equal…we don’t want either of it, right? Gotta find the line between πŸ™‚

        We all constantly flop in and out of “The Neutral Zone”. This is getting into molecular structure and the “man behind the curtain”…..bah! church talk! πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜› πŸ˜€
