If you live with a cat, as I do, then your morning starts with a soft paw tapping on your nose, because she’s hungry. If you own a dog, then he probably wakes you up sitting by the bed and looking at you in need of a walk. Soon enough you realize that they are the ones who determine when your day’s going to start. Even if it can be challenging sometimes, I’m sure every pet owner still wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world πŸ™‚ Yes, you mumble at first, especially on winter Sunday morning, but still, you ‘do as they say’.

In one of the previous posts, I talked about motivation, well, this is one of the things you do whether you’re motivated or not πŸ™‚

Not every morning starts like this, at least for me it’s not the case. But when it does, I have a special weapon to put me in a lovely awaken mood right away – magicΒ black tea. The first thing I do after feeding the cat princess is brew a nice cup of pure black tea, add some milk, and just sip it in silence. It helps me get into the day with ease. Since I like coffee, too, usually mornings are reserved for coffee first, and later on come several cups of tea, during the day. Black tea is reserved for afternoons, except in cases like this.Β

What I love about black tea is that you can blend it so easily. Adding milk is a classic for me, but there’s a wide range of ideas you can go with and twist it up a bit. For example, I like to add a few drops of rum extract. That completely flips the taste and it smells soooo nice! But that is maintained for afternoons. In the morning, classic black tea is my favorite.

Of all teas that come from the Camellia Sinensis herb (or Camellia Assamica), black tea has the most caffeine, because the process of oxidation lasts longer than with the others. Green tea is the second on the list, but to be honest, I don’t always love the taste of it. I have to blend it with ginger syrup or cranberry bud, otherwise, it doesn’t bring the same magic I get from tea. Yes, you do need to have a little fetish inside to notice this stuff, haha. I’m the one :D. Even drinking different teas from different cups because it just feels better that way. I’m sorry, I’m a hedonist. Everything has to fit for a magical experience.

Oh, trust me, I will drink it from a paper cup on a street if I’m on the go, as well, I’m not that picky. But in the comfort of my home, I like to treat myself and my guests. Life is all about joy.

Since I mentioned drinking on the go, having your travel mug with you is much better than paper cups. Ceramic or bamboo ones work best for me. Taking a walk in the fresh air, for example, is more enjoyable with music on and this beverage. Try it out, for real, define a direction, put on the earbuds, play some music you like and sip it like a pro :D. I can assure you that these walks will be on your schedule asap! Or, dog people, use your time out with a cup of tea as well.

Now, what I wanted to actually write about most is that precious Black tea. Let me introduce you to some more benefits that this plant provides us with.

First, here is a list of nutritions we get from one cup (8 oz);

Water – 236,3 gr
Energy – 9,5 KJ
Carbonhydrate – 0,71 mg
Magnesium – 7,11 mg
Potassium – 87,69 mg
Sodium – 7,11 mg
Fluoride – 883,77 mg
Folate – 11,85 mg

These are basic compounds that have a higher value than 5mg per cup. Other nutrients that can be found are Theobromine, Manganese, Choline, Pantothenic acid, Riboflavin, Copper, Zinc, Phosphorus, and Iron.

But what does this all mean in our daily life? How does it affect us?

It’s important to be clear that tea is not a magic pill. What it does is keeps us healthy in a long run. That’s why it’s important to add it to our daily routine, not just from time to time.

Overall, black tea is rich in antioxidants. That means that body cells are protected against most of the damage. A high amount of flavanols keeps the heartbeat happy, providing clean arteries and blood flow. Tannins and other chemicals mostly have a relaxing effect on our digestive system. If you drink unsweetened black tea daily, your oral health will improve. It prevents cavities and bacteria growth in the mouth. Tip: Put a note near your toothbrush and you will never have to think about it πŸ˜‰

Another important benefit for our body is increased bone density. The strength of our bones changes over time, so it’s important to nutrient them from an early age throughout a lifetime. Nobody wants to break easy, right? Talking about strength, the immune system comes next. Black tea improves immune pathways and strengthens us from within. Whether it’s a cold season or not, our immune system fights against outside invaders every day. Keep it strong!

After these main body effects, you may be interested in the next few, as well, to complete this health care task;

I talk a lot about focus because I think it’s important. Black tea certainly enhances your brain alertness, thanks to the caffeine compound.

It can also be found in the cosmetic industry. Face and hair masks are infused with black tea because of its antioxidant properties. Here’s an extra tip for a home remedy – put black tea bags on your eyes for a few minutes to reduce the puffiness!  P.S. Lady’s tricks πŸ™‚

And for those who are looking for weight loss, unsweetened black tea may be your beverage of choice for that matter.

So, dear readers, if you would like to dive deeper into this study, please go ahead. Leave a comment or investigate on your own for more detailed facts. I just wanted to give you a quick health overview of Black tea.

I would also love to get to know you better, so feel free to share your tea routines in the comments πŸ™‚
